The sad ending of Biden’s presidency

Opinion: President Joe Biden says his not-unexpected decision to drop out of the United States presidential election campaign was made in the best interests of his party and country. But to many it will be no more than a case of ‘he would say that, wouldn’t he’. To them he was simply too old and frail to perform credibly in the election campaign, let alone for a further four years in the White House.
That rather simplistic view overlooks the fact that there are many leaders around the world older than Biden, performing their duties without causing concern about their capacity.
