  • Condition: Good to Very good antique condition - some gilt paint wear and/or loss-mainly on the rim and in the interior- but you may see in other areas as well. See all photos. There are no chips nor cracks. Some minor soiling and some roughness on the base of the mug- done in the making. There are some very minor irregularities in the glaze that occurred in the making- see all photos. It displays very well. It shows the signs you want to see of age and wear and patina of history. See photos for your review and estimation of condition.

    Antique 19th C OCCUPATIONAL Shaving FRANCE Mug FRATERNAL JR  O.U.A.M. #2  -
    It is a really nicely made Antique Shaving Mug for the Junior Order of United Auto Mechanics which was began in 1853.  It has a
    very pleasing design on the mug which shows the traditional Compass & Square design for JR OUAM and Masons.   It was made for J.F. Grieve (we think that is what is says- but we are not sure!) It was made in France -it may be Limoges but we are not sure (Wm Guerin & Co).  See details above and view photos as they are the best representation of condition. The mug
    measures approximately 3 5/8" tall and approx 3.5" diameter (from edge to edge) at base and 3 5/8" diameter at top of mug- edge to edge.
