    Description

    Original CDV of Civil War Photo may be of Union General Winfield Scott Hancock photographed by Gardner with Gardner stamp on back.   We are not 100% certain image is Hancock but confident it is.  Cannot find same image of him.  We do feel certain it is a general as this CDV was part of vintage album including many other Union Army Generals (some signed), Abraham Lincoln, members of Lincoln's cabinet, Robert E. Lee (signed), politicians and a few notable writers and abolitionists during CW.  No 'non-famous' people (we shall say) from period were in album.  So, this person is noteworthy.  The album was not salvageable but thankfully the photos were.  Measures approx. 2 3/8 x 3 7/8".  Condition is good some fading and small mark in card lower left.  This will ship fast and FREE within protective sleeve.  Please contact us any questions we try our best and follow our store we focus on rare and unique.
