    Description

    This rare 1920s Canadian "Bat" litho 4 pound tobacco tin, measuring 3" x 6 1/2" x 7 1/4", is in good condition with no rust, some  creases and dents and some paint scrapes and scratches.  The hinge is in excellent working order.  There is a large piece of tax stamp.  This very attractive black, red and yellow tin was made by the Thomas Davidson Manufacturing Company,Ltd, Montreal, Canada.  It features an image of package of tobacco with a Philadelphia Athletics red baseball and bat on top.  The Philadelphia Athletics relocated to California in 1956, becoming the Oakland Athletics.  The tobacco was manufactured by the Rock City Tobacco Company, Ltd., Quebec in Factory 6, Port 13 D.  The "Bat" chewing tobacco motto was "Always Makes a Hit".
