Vintage Japanese Antimony Picture Frame Biwa Geisha Dragon Very Detailed
Used
Gorgeous Antique Japanese Frame
Made from a soft metal, I believe it is called Antimony
Exquisite detailing accented in gold tone
Geisha and a Dragon flank the large centered Biwa, which would hold a photograph or image.
Silk panel on back
Frame would hold a 4-1/4" x 6-1/2" Image, with a display area of 3-5/8" x 5-1/4"
Bent brass wire easel holder
Measures in total 7-5/8" x 10-1/4"
Condition:
Silver luster finish mostly lost across the piece with a dark gray patina on most of the unaccented areas, similar to traditional pewter patina. Gold accenting remains mostly intact with light lost. Detailing and presentation is very nice. Tarnish, patina and mild scratching present on the rear. Back silk panel is taped on. Bottom left corner has some light damage.
